WordPress Managed Hosting & Support
All WordPress website development includes the option of FREE 12-months managed hosting & support.
This package is designed for businesses who value ongoing personal service and hassle-free website management. Unlike large hosting companies that provide minimal support and leave you to manage everything yourself, this package offers personal, hands-on guidance so you always have help when you need it.
After the free period, ongoing Wordpress managed hosting and support is available at £240 per year.
By accepting the free package or any paid renewal, the following terms apply:
Hosting & Support Terms
1. What’s Included
As a fully supported client you receive:
- Managed UK hosting on a reputable shared reseller platform.
- Personal support acting as your primary technical contact for all hosting services, including email accounts hosted within your package, and domain management.
- WordPress user roles: Editor access for content management and Shop Manager access for WooCommerce are granted as standard. Where specific plugins require access to manage key website functions, Administrator access may be granted. Granting this role does not remove or reduce any other terms of this agreement; however, if major changes or breakages occur that cannot be fixed by restoring a backup, support under this package will end and the client should arrange migration to their own hosting as described in Section 6.
- Basic website maintenance (security checks, routine plugin and minor core updates, small bug fixes).
- Daily backups with retention.
- Free technical & digital marketing guidance when requested.
- Reduced development rates for additional work.
2. Scope & Limitations
Hosting/support covers routine maintenance and support only. Examples of what is not included and will incur additional charges:
- Major redesigns, new feature development, custom coding or complex integrations.
- Large content updates, bulk data imports or substantial WooCommerce changes.
- Purchases or renewals of third-party plugin or theme licences, premium services or software.
- Emergency security fixes: Routine malware scans and basic security checks are included. However, if a serious security issue arises (for example a hack or major malware infection) that requires urgent investigation or specialist cleanup, this work is outside the standard package and will incur additional charges.
The designer will advise you if any issue falls outside the included service before starting any chargeable work.
3. Updates, Testing & Site Health
- Minor updates (security patches, small plugin updates) are applied as part of maintenance.
- Plugins are generally set to auto-update where safe and practical to maintain security; however, some plugins may require manual updates or additional testing before updates are applied. These updates remain part of the managed hosting service and are considered fully supported, but the designer cannot guarantee that third-party plugins or themes will never cause problems.
- Major updates (significant core or plugin upgrades) will be tested where possible; you will be notified if testing/staging is needed.
4. Backups & Restoration
- Daily backups are taken and retained for 28 days.
- Site restorations can be undertaken upon request.
5. Support & Response Times
- Normal support hours are Mon - Fri, 9:00 - 17:30.
- As a self-employed business, the designer provides personal support to clients and aims to be available to discuss issues or questions at any time. The designer will always look to accommodate your needs on a personal basis wherever possible.
- Work done outside of standard support hours or urgent out-of-scope work may incur additional charges.
6. Administrative Control & Site Migration
- If you want full administrative control of your WordPress site (including responsibility for all updates, maintenance and third-party development), you should:
- Arrange your own hosting before development starts, or
- Request migration at the time you wish to take full control and/or hand development to a third party.
- The designer will not provide the same personal hosting support or routine maintenance for sites on third-party hosting. However, assistance with issues you cannot resolve yourself can always be provided on a chargeable, non-priority basis.
- If the client undertakes or arranges migration to a third-party host at any time, all hosting, routine maintenance, and support responsibilities transfer to the client.
- The designer can perform site migrations, starting at £150 (final price depends on size/complexity). Once migration is complete, all hosting, routine maintenance, and support responsibilities transfer to the client.
7. Third-party Licences
- If any third-party plugin, theme or service requires a paid licence, the need and any additional costs will be discussed with you in advance, and no purchase will be made without your approval.
8. Ownership, Data Protection & Responsibilities
- You own the content you provide (text, images, data). The designer may retain ownership of any proprietary code, templates or design assets unless transferred in writing for an agreed fee.
- The designer will advise on GDPR compliance and assist with technical measures where asked, but legal responsibility for compliance (privacy policy, cookie consent, data processing arrangements) rests with you.
9. Billing, Renewal & Termination
- After the initial free 12-month period, hosting/support is billed annually at £240 per year. Renewal invoices are issued in advance.
- Non-payment may result in suspension. Renewal fees are non-refundable.
- Either party may terminate with 30 days’ written notice. On termination the designer will hold a final backup for 30 days and then delete unless an alternative arrangement is agreed.
10. Liability & Changes
- The designer makes reasonable efforts to keep services secure and available but cannot guarantee 100% uptime or be liable for third-party outages, data loss or plugin conflicts.
- The designer may amend these terms at any time and will contact clients if any major changes occur. Continued use of the hosting and support service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Acceptance
- By accepting the free 12-month hosting/support package or paying for any renewal, you agree to these terms.
